City of Perth, Foodchain Light Lockers space, Roe Street Car Parth Northbridge.
June 16, 2014
As of this week I have installed some new works for the City of Perth in their light lockers space on James Street Northbridge, WA.
The Mashrabiya Lattice series connects the contemporary symbol of lattice to its historical architectural origin while revealing new aesthetic possibilities. The work aims to use the relationship between the transparent yet dividing nature of the lattice screen to reveal interesting and unique crossover points within two cultures.
The works will be on display from June 12th until October 2014

@Scale a 2014 National Architecture Conference Fringe Event
May 02, 2014
I have been working on some new work lately. One of the shows I have coming up is @Scale for the National Architecture conference. This show is opening next week and I will be show the new work Mashrabiya Lattice. This exhibition will feature established and emerging Australian designers working across multiple creative fields of urban design, architecture, visual arts, furniture and object design.
@ SCALE presents questions on how designers pursue common themes or ideas through scale, translating the experience of the intimate through to the experience of the vast. How consistent is the process in designing objects of various magnitudes through the making of scaled or real size models, maquettes or prototypes? This exploration is famously depicted by Ray and Charles Eames in their seminal film the Powers of Ten, conceptualising this adventure in magnitudes, depicting the relative scale of the environment in which we work.
Proudly supported by COX, FORM Homes, QV1, HASSELL, Morley Davis Architects, Mark Aronson Architecture, Site Architecture Studio, Wood & Grieve Engineers, Dexion, Dulux, Polyflor, Scalawag Wines and Brendan Jurich Designer.

Hey… So I have been wrapped up in this crazy exhibition to promote the launch of a limited edition local beer. The product is a ripper American style pale ale. 12 artist were asked to respond to the theme of neighbourhood and apply a design on a beautiful refillable growler beer bottle . Each artist was asked to make a 2D work that articulated their ideas. The launch night was just one short evening… You would have missed it if you blinked.

Side Table
I have finally finished the Twerk Bedside Table I was working on. The main construction is built out of reclaimed Jarrah while the inlay on the top is hand cut laminated veneers. The design is quirky in that it is meant to look as if it is out of perspective. It’s not a camera trick
